Waasya Pry Inferno Burns Books Worth 1 Million

MWINGI- Parents and teachers at Waasya Primary school were left in shock after a raging inferno swept through the school library and an adjoing administration block - reducing books worth thousands of shillings to ashes.



The school administration is now appealing to the National government and well-wishers to support the institution with new learning materials.

"It's a big shock to the school and the community at large. The books and learning materials that we have lost were vital to the education of the pupils. We are therefore appealing to the National government and well-wishers to support us purchase new books" said the Headteacher Mr. Simon Kinuthia speaking to the press.

It took more than 4 hours to put off the fire during the yesterday morning incident.

The cause of  fire was not established as we went to press.

Police sleuths are investigating the matter.
