KITUI - Mwingi Central MP Dr. Gideon Mulyungi has issued a clarion call to all members of the Kitui County Assembly to keep on fighting for equitable distribution of resources across the 40 wards.

While urging the MCAs not to relent but to keep on playing their oversight role by monitoring the implementation of the county budgets vis-a-vis the projects, at the grassroot level, the popular Wiper MP said;

"MCAs must not be cowed by the Executive. MCAs have a noble mandate from the Kitui electorate. The electorate is pegging their trust on the MCAs - to do feasibility studies, to indentify local problems while launching and monitoring County projects, and keeping the Executive on check"

The MP was speaking on Saturday at a Mwingi hotel after hosting Inter-County youth leaders who urged him to run for Kitui Governorship during the courtesy call.

"The MP has shown that he stands for transparency, Mulyungi stands for academic excellence while improving livelihoods of his Kitui people" said Francis Muthengi who is spearheading a Univesity Students campaign to push for Mulyungi Governorship in Kitui.

Hon. Mulyungi, who last month disbursed bursaries to over 13,000 students across Kenya, was accompanied Mui MCA Hon. Mbaya Kavolonza.

The MP also wished all Kenyan women a Happy International Women's Day usually  observed across the world on March 8 - a global day that celebrates social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.
