MWINGI- Mwingi Central MP Gideon Mulyungi today hosted HE Kalonzo Musyoka and Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu when the Wiper Leader successfully launched free plastics and reconstructive surgery camps in Mwingi and Tseikuru, media reported today.

The free medical camp that ends on 1st December is a brainchild of the Kalonzo Musyoka Foundation in partnership with Burn Society of Kenya, the Wound Care Society of Kenya and the Ministry of Health and supported by area MPs including Dr. Gideon Mulyungi.

"The one-week activity will see the county benefit from free reconstructive surgeries and healthcare services to disadvantaged children and adults with physical deformities" said former VP and Kenyan statesman H.E Kalonzo Musyoka.

“I have been supporting my people by helping them to clear astronomical hospital bills, I can not manage this alone. We all need to help in reducing the burden of disease through NHIF– this is a great achievement for all of us” she said.

Speaking in Mwingi Level 4 Hospital today during the launch of the workshop, Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu termed the pact as a *big score for the county health sector* saying over hundred cases will be corrected.

She lauded the Kalonzo Musyoka Foundation for supporting the program noting the *treatment is exceptional citing limited surgical expertise, lack of funds for setting up specialized units and low awareness* among the general public in counties.

On his part, Kalonzo Musyoka said unity of leaders was a bold step towards spurring growth in Ukambani.

He called upon leaders in the county to support mining noting the vast deposits available whose extraction would hugely boost the county’s economy.

“My vision is to *have this county become the center of mining activities* in the country” said Musyoka at the auspicious launch.

The Ukambani kingpin said his *unity with President Kenyatta recently was for the good of the country* saying he had no political dispute with the country’s leadership.

Kalonzo added that Wiper was *alive and no extension of working relationships with Jubilee could shrink the Ukambani dominating party.*

“Wiper is very much alive, in fact, do not be surprised when some Jubilee members join us in future” He said.

Mwingi Central MP Gedion Mulyungi - present in the event – praised the Universal Healthcare programme launched by Governor Charity Ngilu as a relief to many residents who continually access health services without fee.
