MWINGI - Reporters and Mp aides were kept at bay as Wiper Mp Gideon Mulyungi was hosted at Masjid Noor Mosque in Mwingi by more than 700 fasting Muslim faithfuls - including Imams and clerics, local media reported.

Quite clearly, it was also a no-media show, even for the camera brandishing Mp communications director whose hot pursuit in a bid to photograph the Mp inside the mosque came to a naught at the mosque gates. The journalist and a pack of local radio reporters were also barred from nosing around the hallowed prencits.

The Mp, who spend close to one hour inside the mosque, was wishing the fasting Mwingi Muslim Community, and their over a billion fasting Muslim faithfuls, a Ramadhan Karim. He later distributed futati dates, foodstuffs and cooking oil, the PA to the development icon Mulwa Mutambu said, speaking to reporters at Wiper offices.

"Photographs are a no no,...Sir' said a cleric keeping watch at the Masjid Noor mosque gates as Mp aides and local reporters kept distance.

'The consummate, articulate and compassionate philanthropic Mwingi Hon Gideon Mulyungi later in the afternoon hosted the more than 700 Muslim faithfuls drawn from his constituency at Wiper offices, where he donated cassocks of dried Futari dates and foodstuffs to be used during the holy month of Ramadhan.

Part of the Mp Manifesto on Religion, is a roadmap that seeks to inspire exemplary corruption-free service delivery regime, and cohesion in Ukambani development, the Mp 10yr Strategic Plan reads in part according to his official website.

'The iconic leader has continued to maintain direct contact with all constituents, including the marginalized poor people - which is obviously the most promising way to eradicate poverty, suffering and misery whilst improving the livelihoods of Kitui and Ukambani at large' said Majid, an aspiring MCA 2022 Mwingi Ward.

"A leader must be able to freely mingle with everyone, including down trodden cohorts, religious groups and the races that makr up his electorate who may feel vilified at times. This is fundamentally critical as it ensures cohesion, love and minimal divisions amongst people' said Mr. Patrick Kimanzi, a media aide to the Wiper Mp, speaking to reporters at the venue, echoing the popular legislator.
