Wiper Flexes Muscles As Edith Bags Kitui West

KITUI- The Wiper party early Tuesday basked in the glow of victory after its favourite candidate Edith Nyenze won the Kitui West by-election with a resounding landslide.

The Hon. Kalonzo Musyoka's party, and the NASA coalition, wrapped up its expected landslide win paving the way for party leader to continue tightening his already firm grip on Ukambani political landscape, local Press reported.

About 20,000 voters turned out for the suffrage, out of 52,000 registered voters, with Edith Nyenze garnering 14, 372 votes representing a 72% win, an IEBC final tally sheet indicated at Matinyani hall.

“Our Wiper has once more flexed its political muscles. Everyone agrees that Wiper remains the formidable force to reckon with in Ukambani politics' said Mwingi Central Mp Gideon Mulyungi, a popular Wiper legislator who has remained steadfast in collating Wiper strength and cohesion in Ukambani.

Last week, the Mp distributed Ksh. 20 Millions CDF bursaries and planting seeds worth Ksh. 5 Million, winning hearts and minds and making him a darling of the masses in Kitui ©MP PRESS
