INSECURITY: 5 Schools Likely To Miss Exams In Tana Kitui Border-MP Mulyungi
By CITIZEN REPORTER, SHED ILAVA & PATRICK KIMANZI
KITUI- Six schools lying along the volatile Kitui Tana border will not sit for the national examinations if adequate security is not beefed up along the bandit-prone border, area MP has warned.
The warning comes barely a day after one person was killed by Somali bandits who have been launching sporadic attacks in the area.
Mwingi Central MP Gideon Mulyungi today called upon Interior CS Matiangi to ensure that adequate security is deployed and beefed up in all schools lying along the epicenter of the banditry attacks--warning that pupils have abandoned schools in the area, and may fail to sit for the critical the national examinations this year.
"More than 200 candidates in Mwanzele, Kathungu, Ukasi, Sosoma, Iviani and Muuani may not sit for the upcoming national the exams if the Matiangi does not make urgent and adequate deployment of security personnel to the 6 affected schools" said the area MP speaking to the media.
