County Music Top DJ Profiles: Dj Mantixx

Dj Mantix ( Barnabas Otieno) ranks as the most reviewed and interviewed prolific top Dj in East Africa who surely gotten round proving his worth in the competitive entertainment circles in the region.
When I first interviewed Mantixx as a rookie Sunday Nation entertainment reporter in 2010, then under the tutelage of the then able editor Adhyambo Odera, the experience was perplexing; to say the least.

Fast foward today, the maverick mixmaster, now churning daily hitsong mixes, the stunning Dj Mantixx has undoubtedly shown that the audio and video mixes are well and alive after gaining prominence in the top echelons of Kenya's music scene at the turn of the millennium.
In his owns words, Mantix said:
"I am addicted to music. At the tender age of as 12, i recall dressing up to sing for an audience in our estate since i grew up listening to artists like Coolio, Snoop Dog, Aliyah; Naughty by Nature, leaning to the old school and R&B,slow jam music genres.
My dream would eventually become a reality when after meeting Dj Mantel, paving my way to the Kenyan entertainment showbiz industry in 2002, all while still a sophomore student in a city college .
"In three months, i was signed by Morgan Entertainment as a Dj and Mc, adding a new feather to my cap as an entertainer" D Mantixx told this writer.
The rest, he says, is history.
