Statement by the Member of Parliament Hon. Gideon Mulyungi on the Occasion of Eid Mubarak.

I take this earliest opportunity in extending our warmest wishes to all Muslim communities in Kenya and around the world as they celebrate Eid-al-Fitr. For Muslims, Ramadan has been a time of fasting, prayer and spiritual renewal. These past four weeks have also been a time to serve the less fortunate, a reminder of the obligations that people of all faiths have to each other.

In Mwingi and Kitui, Eid-al-Fitr is a time of bonding by all communities of faith including Mwingi Christians and the Mwingi Muslim Community, it enrichs our lives, strengthens our democracy and uphold our freedoms, including the freedom of religion.

On behalf of the all my constituents, and on behalf of all Kitui residents, we congratulate and thank all Mwingi Muslims for their unwavering political support.

Roads that had been reduced to cattle tracks, and where gulleys, boulders and deep canyons obstructed roads is now a thing of the past as two powerful Tsunami graders lumber along, grading road networks as villagers watch in awe.
