Kitui-Legislators drawn from Kitui County on Friday gave a wide berth to Governor Charity Ngilu's mineral push in Mui Basin, and instead graced a Wiper rendezvous chaired by kingpin HE Kalonzo Musyoka in Naivasha, local media reported Friday.
At Kefri hall where stakeholders and delegates drawn from the so-called Kitui mining belt where meeting the Governor, an out of place lone Kitui Central Mp Makali Mulu seemed to be at pains, explaining to delegates why his parliamentary colleagues had snubbed such an 'important economic forum'.
'Kingpin Rendezvous'
On the other hand, the Ukambani legislators were having a rendezvous retreat in Naivasha, kilometres away where the HE Kalonzo Musyoka was conducting a quarterly Wiper meeting.
' Its is not a snub. You media people want to create a storm out of a tea cup. We are at Naivasha where the kingpin is' retorted Wiper development maestro Gideon Mulyungi, speaking on phone from a Wiper retreat in Naivasha when the media sought his comments over the Ngilu snub.

Meanwhile the Mp said the happy-go-lucky Kitui Government should priotise in providing reprieve to hundreds of victims displaced by floods in the hilly, mineral rich Mui Basin , instead of relentlessly pushing for explorations and a mining expedition that would eventually exploit the locals.

'Did you report that i gave out personal donations of foodstuffs, blankets, planting seeds and iron sheets at Kathumo and Kathonzweni to more than 400 victims to re- plant shambas and rebuild their houses?. 'Ngilu Excavators Won't Cross Tyaa'- Wiper Mp
On Thursday at Enziu river, the Mp insinuated that the excavators headed to Mui will not be allowed to cross Tyaa river unless 'my Mui people, living in the said blocks are given title deeds, fully consulted and involved during the entire mining process; to benefit my people fully ' said the fiery former Kibaki administration PS, who is slowly mutating to be an anti-corruption crusader in Kitui development matters.
